Adidas Ozweego 2048 imagined the retro shoe 30 years into the future.
Working with Fire Burns Up and Jam3, I helped create an interactive installation hidden inside a custom bodega in downtown Manhattan. From the street, it looked like a regular convenience store, but visitors entered the experience through the drinks fridge.
The installation was created for sneaker fans who had reserved the limited-edition Ozweego re-release online. After showing their reservation pass, they moved through a projection-filled space that offered fragmented glimpses of the future.
I worked on the custom interactive newspaper box at the centre of the experience. Entering a secret code on the keypad triggered a projection sequence and unlocked the box, revealing a free pair of Adidas Ozweegos.
